Some 2,000 Isabela City folks attended the proclamation rally of the Partido ng Masang Pilipino (PMP) in Isabela City last Saturday presided by Zambales Congresswoman Mitos Magsaysay, United Nationalist Alliance (UNA) senatorial candidate.

Magsaysay officially proclaimed the PMP candidates led by its chairman and vice mayoralty bet Bobby Reynera and four of his council aspirants, Joven Martin, Tetey Manapol-Alano, Bobong Dans and Hadji Leng Andihad.

PMP led by former President Joseph Estrada is one of the political parties that have merged with UNA of Vice President Jejomar Binay.

In a short program held at the Alano compound, Barangay Dona Ramona, Magsaysay proudly reported to PMP supporters her accomplishments as a congresswoman in her district in Zambales in which she assured that the same could be done much better if given the chance to serve the country in Senate.

She is known as the congresswoman “libre” (free) because of her programs like free education, free hospitalization and medicines, free emission testing for public utility vehicles and many other free services.

Magsaysay is the first senatorial candidate to go on motorcade and hold a proclamation rally in Basilan.

Meanwhile, vice mayoralty aspirant Reynera expressed elation on the impressive attendance of Christians and Muslims during the proclamation rally.

Leaders with their respective supporters from the island barangays and from the mainland trooped to Alano Compound as early as 7 a.m. to show their support to the candidacy of Reynera.

“This occasion is not only for proclamation alone but also to show to my political detractors that the Muslim community is supportive of my candidacy,” Reynera said as he dismissed rumors that he could not muster the Muslim votes in the May 13 2013. —Jimmy Villaflores
