ISABELA CITY, Basilan – Gov. Jum Akbar welcomed the deployment of combatant policemen from the other regions to this province.

Akbar said the deployment of more policemen, who arrived here Monday, will boost the government’s campaign against lawless elements especially the Abu Sayyaf bandits.

Akbar said the deployment of combatant policemen from the other regions will also augment the strength of the police already stationed in this province.

One of the two companies is from the Police Regional Office-3 (PRO-3) Public Safety Battalion and the other is from Police Regional Office-Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (PRO-ARMM) Public Safety Battalion.

The two companies will be deployed in this city and in nearby municipalities of Maluso and Lamitan.
Director Felicisimo Khu, chief of the Directorate for Integrated Police Operations (DIPO)-West, disclosed that more policemen from other regions will be deployed to this province.
Akbar urged the policemen to implement the law to the fullest and to be impartial during their stay in this province.

Akbar met yesterday with Khu, DIPO-west deputy director Chief Supt. Francisco Cristobal, PRO-ARMM director Chief Supt. Bienvenido Latag, Special Operations Task Force-Basilan commander Brig. Gen. Nicanor Dolojan and other stakeholders during the Provincial Peace and Order Council (PPOC) meeting at the provincial capitol.

They discussed the prevailing peace and order situation of this province as well as measures and possible solutions.
