Police Regional Office 9 Director Chief Supt. Juanito B. Vaño has directed all Police Provincial Offices to remove the barriers put up in checkpoints in the different highways if they are hazardous and causing obstruction to motorvehicles and road users.

Highway Patrol Group 9 Chief Supt. Severino B. Agustin said that after he received a call from Chief Supt. Vaño on the removal of road barriers that have caused accidents or have become road hazard, he immediately instructed his provincial team units to make their checkpoints barriers flexible  so that  motorvehicles with long body can easily pass through without causing damage.

“I believe that motorvehicle drivers who are good always follow the law and always respect checkpoints. They will slow down when they pass a check point,” Agustin said.

Agustin conferred recently with Engr. Atilla  Barre of the Department of Public Works and Highways regarding the removal of obstructions and prohibited uses within the tight of way of national roads. — Allen Abastillas
