Canning factories yesterday rolled out the red carpet for mayoralty aspirant Cong. Beng Climaco-Salazar, her teammate Vice Mayor Cesar Iturralde, District I congressional bet  Mayor Celso Lobregat, District II congressional candidate Jomar Lobregat and the council aspirants of the Team PNoy under Districts I and II, as they showed their all out support to the formidable team.

The Team PNoy barnstormed the canning factories and received a warm welcome not only from the workers but from the owners and officers of the nine canning factories that were visited.

“Asegurao ya si Ma’am Beng para mayor pati si Mayor Celso for congressman na District 1 y el grupo kay manada sila kosa ya hace para na Ciudad de Zamboanga”, Ellen Jumawan, a factory worker said. “El otro ta abla sila manada sila cosa ya hace y manada pa gayot sila promesa pero hinde man sincero.”

The anxious faces and wide grins of factory officers and workers who greeted the Team PNoy inside the factory compound were heartwarming and inspiring.

Both Cong. Climaco-Salazar and Mayor Lobregat expressed gratitude that the people are appreciative of the things that the District I congressional office and the City Government have done for the city and for the residents.

“Sa tried and tested na tayo,” Wilnie Mendoza, another factory worker volunteered, as he said that he and his relatives in Talisayan will support Team PNoy in the May 13 elections.

During pulong-pulong (gatherings) held in every factory visited, Cong. Climaco and Mayor Lobregat vowed to continue the plans and programs for the betterment and progress of the city. Vice Mayor Iturralde said if re-elected, he will remain to be a working vice mayor, who will fully support and complement Climaco-Salazar’s plans and programs.

Council aspirants Myra Paz Abubakar, Violy Alejandro, Dats Sampang, Tito Espiritusanto, Noning Biel, Charlie Mariano, Bong Atilano and Gerky Valesco for District I and Mike Alavar, Kit Barredo, BG Guingona, VP Elago, Art Onrubia, Percival Ramos and Eddie Saavedra for District II presented their agenda as well as the things they have done for the city and the residents either as incumbent city officials or private individuals.

Support for Team PNoy is swelling as the campaign period now enters the 21st day. Residents in the barangays swarm the team during house to house campaigns while nightly rallies are mostly jampacked.
