Policemen under City Police Director Sr. Supt. Edwin De Ocampo recovered a stolen Toyota Fortuner in Tumaga the other day.

The Fortuner was recovered from the possession of Ferdinand Tolentino y Oyales, 47, a car mechanic.

A police report disclosed that policemen swooped down on LB Homemate Furniture after receiving a report that a suspected “hot car” was put into sale at very low price.

Upon the arrival of the police, they intercepted the Toyota Fortuner 4x2 with plate number ZNB 710 colored light beige lithium driven by Tolentino.

Investigation showed that the vehicle is owned by Ides Loyola of Quezon City. It was reportedly stolen on September 25 , 2008 around 9:30 p.m., in Tomana Bridge, Marikina City.

It was also learned that the vehicle was bought by Emma Canen of Doña Rosario Village, Bagsak, Mandaue City, Cebu, who happened to be the aunt of Tolentino.

During investigation, Tolentino told the police that it was his aunt who told him to look for buyer for the Fortuner.

Tolentino was placed under investigation while the recovered vehicle was impounded for proper disposition. – Dan Toribio Jr.
