Team PNoy District II congressional aspirant Jomar Lobregat yesterday bared what he termed as conspiracy by political opponents to weaken his bid in the May 13 elections.

Lobregat said the double registration yarn is one of the tactics orchestrated by opposing parties to destroy his credibility in exchange for votes from Taluksangay and the island barangays in the east coast.

Citing reliable information, Lobregat, who enjoys a surging popularity rating, said local United Nationalist Alliance (UNA) council aspirants Rommel Agan, Susan de los Reyes, Kim Elago and Jihan Edding were swayed to constantly attack him either through media or during political rallies and sorties in exchange for votes from the mentioned barangays by an influential official, whose wife is also running for congress in District II.

“That is why, I’m no longer surprised, why Elago and Delos Reyes started their opening salvo, by making an issue of my voter’s registration application with the local Commission on Elections (COMELEC) office the other day”, Jomar Lobregat disclosed.

Per COMELEC record, Taluksangay has a total of 4,400 registered voters, which Lobregat said, is quite good pull for any political candidate/s wishing to augment their number of votes on May 13.

Nevertheless, Lobregat is unfazed by the registration issue hurled against him, stressing “no less than COMELEC Election Officer Alvin Tria, declared that I am now a registered voter of the 2nd district since March of last year, and that the incidental appearance of my name in the list of District 1 voters’ list, is something that the poll body has to correct”.

Meanwhile, Jomar Lobregat lamented an incident where a Team PNoy postering team was banned entry in barangay Taluksangay last Wednesday.

Team PNoy coordinator Councilor Rudy Lim said no less than Councilor Abdurahman Nuño, Taluksangay barangay chairman denied the party’s request for Team PNoy candidates to campaign in the said village. — PA
