An office and campaign staff of Councilor Lilia Macrohon-Nuño, who is a congressional aspirant in District 2, and a businessman were shot dead in separate shooting incidents in San Roque and Vitali last Friday night.

Four men of the Vitali Police Station and two other persons were injured as the vehicle they were riding fell on a creek while they were rushing the second victim to a Vitali hospital.

The fatalities were identified as Rahman Ramdi y Delapate, 35, married, an IT expert, resident of Zone 2, Cawit and a trusted man of Councilor Nuño and Samuel Ramones y Torres of Sitio Linduman, Vitali.

A police report disclosed that Ramdi was talking to Leonora Tawasil y Morales, 34, married, of Baliwasan near the Chinese Cemetery in San Roque around 8 p.m., when an unidentified man appeared and shot him several times.

When Ramdi slumped on the ground, the gunman drove his XRM motorcycle with plate number 6979 JG then sped away.

Ramdi was rushed to the Western Mindanao Medical Center where he was declared dead on arrival.

Police were looking into several angles including love triangle which may have motivated the killing.

Almost an hour earlier, Ramones was shot to death by a gunman in their house at Sitio Linduman, Vitali.

Initial investigation disclosed that Ramones, his wife and three sons were taking supper in their house when unidentified persons arrived and called him outside.

Ramones went out to check and one of the men asked him if he was selling gasoline. Another man surfaced and shot Ramones several times without any word.

When Ramones collapsed on the ground, the killers left the place.

Upon receiving report on the shooting, men of the Vitali Police Station composed of SPO2 Cesar Rabuya, SPO1 Mitchel Bannister, SPO1 Edgardo Mondarte and PO3 Regalado Marquez rushed to the scene. They took the body of Ramones to the police car and rushed to the Vitaly Lying-in Hospital together with the victim’s daughter Leonisa, 10 and Ronald Bejerano, a friend.

On their way to the hospital, the police vehicle lost its brake and fell on a creek.
