Bizman’s son, cab driver dead in latest shootings PDF Print E-mail

The son of a businessman was shot to death by a gunman near Jumbo Bridge in Guiwan at dawn, while a pedicab driver was gunned down in Tugbungan at past 4 p.m. yesterday in this city.

The fatalities were identified as Ivan Ervin Pulmano y Saavedra, 23, single, of Palmeras Drive, Guiwan, and Alfredo “Peping” Labonita of Barigon, Tugbungan.

Pulmano sustained four gunshot wounds in the body and died on the spot. Labonita slumped dead on his pedicab seat with bullet wounds.

Pulmano’s family operates a construction firm in this city.

A police report disclosed that Pulmano was driving his car along Cadena Amor when a man armed with .45 caliber pistol surfaced and shot him several times near Jumbo Bridge at past 3 a.m.

Witnesses said when Pulmano was hit by the bullets, he lost control of the steering wheel which sent the car crashing on the road.

Pulmano then was rushed to the Zamboanga Doctors Hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.

Policemen recovered three spent shells of .45 caliber pistol at the crime scene.

Men of the Tetuan police station led by Chief Insp. Elmer Acuña were still trying to determine the motive of the killing and to unmask the killer and the mastermind.

Labonita  was shot dead at Perez Subdivision Tugbungan. No other details available yet on the shooting as of press time. —  Dan Toribio Jr.
