Some 500 members of the Senior Citizens Federation in Zamboanga over the weekend rallied behind the cause of the local Team PNoy for unity and continuity, as they thanked the present administration for never reneging on its duty to look after the welfare of the constituents particularly their sector.

In a gathering last Friday, the Senior Citizens Federation led by Corazon Herico expressed profound gratitude to the administration of Mayor Celso Lobregat and Cong. Beng Climaco for initiating projects and programs that are greatly benefiting the senior citizens in the barangays.

The members agreed that unity and continuity in the implementation of the plans and programs for the well being of the residents of the city, as what the local Team PNoy under the Beng, Celso, Jomar, Itu partnership espouses, is very essential.

“With the senior citizens centers constructed in the different barangays, our members can meet by field offices in the new buildings”, Herico declared. “Todo este acomplicimiento ta dale mira cay bien palangga gayot el maga senior citizens del presente administracion”, she added eliciting wide applause from the members.

While the City Government puts high premium on education to ensure the future of the young, it is equally concerned of the plight of senior citizens through the construction of centers for elderly in various barangays as well as undertaking other projects for the older population.
