Sr. Supt. James Mejia, police provincial director of Zamboanga del Norte based in Camp Hamac, Sicayab, Dipolog City, lauded Dipolog City Mayor Evelyn T. Uy for coming up with a plan to construct police command posts in different strategic areas, including the exit and entrance of city.

The construction of police posts is part of Uy’s SWIGAPORE 2030.program to make Dipolog City more peaceful with lively economic activities in the future.

Mayor Uy’s SWIGAPORE 2030.program stands for “Switzerland and Singapore in year 2030” which envisions Dipolog as a peaceful place, conducive for investments and economic activities as well as a tourist destination just like Switzerland and Singapore.

Mejia said that development will not push forward if peace and order is left behind.

“Development and peace and order must walk in sequence and harmony and partners for a  strong economy and stable peace and order,” he said.

Mejia said the proposed police command posts will serve as shelters for policemen while they are securing the city.        “Shelters are very important in police works .They are there rain or shine, day and night manning the station just like the other law enforcers of the government to ensure that the city is safe and secure. — Allen Abastillas
