Jomar Lobregat, Team PNoy’s District II congressional bet has condemned the brutal slay Sunday night, of one of his supporters in Latuan, an interior barangay approximately 5 kilometers away from Curuan in the city’s east coast.

Lobregat hoped that the authorities can arrest the suspects and solve the case the soonest possible time. He assured the family of slain Rosalinda Ladao, Latuan barangay kagawad, of support and assistance from Team PNoy and the City Government under the leadership of Mayor Celso Lobregat.

Ladao, 54, had just attended Team Pnoy’s rally in Curuan proper, and was on her way home around 11:15pm, on board a motorcycle driven by her husband Saturnino, when they were fired upon by gunmen riding tandem on another motorcycle, fatally hitting her at the back of her head.

Seeing her wife’s lifeless body, and sensing the culprits intention of finishing him too, Saturnino, who was also wounded then, ran and hid in nearby bushes under cover of darkness.

In an interview with RMN-Zamboanga yesterday morning, Saturnino admitted, that his slain wife was a staunch supporter of Jomar Lobregat, and would have campaigned for him all through out until election day, had the incident not happened.

The grieving husband also revealed about some death threats his wife was receiving, prior to the said incident.

“Este maga amenaso con mi mujer ya prinsipya durante el eleccion de barangay del 2010, ya descansa, y ahora yalang tamen ya bira cay serka ya tamen el eleccion de barangay,” Saturnino said.

The victim’s husband also hinted that Rosalinda, who was serving her third term as barangay kagawad, would have possibly run for a higher post in the coming barangay elections in October this year.

Jomar Lobregat personally extended sympathies to the husband and family of the late councilwoman. — PA
