District 1 Representative Beng Climaco-Salazar joins the entire Filipino nation in celebrating Labor Day, as she recognizes the role of the workforce in building a strong nation that is economically competitive.
“We acknowledge the contribution of the people in our labor force that continually gives sustainability to our industries. Labor day is a reminder as well to employers to really give what is due to our employees and that is something that we have always advocated in Congress through various bills. May it be the Kasambahay bill or the benefits for our employees, we value the work of our people,” Cong. Climaco-Salazar said.
The congresswoman also believes in the creation of more opportunities that can pave the way for more of the college graduates to stay in Zamboanga.
“We aspire that in a few months through various efforts like the ICT Council, we can strengthen our market to venture into IT industries to come in to Zamboanga and make our city the most preferred place for the industry”, she said stressing that “this way we are giving our very own graduates a competitive workplace in the comfort of their own hometown.”
Cong. Climaco-Salazar, who is a frontrunner in the mayoralty race, likewise advocates programs like the Barangay Entre-Negosyo Caravan and other livelihood training through TESDA to parallel efforts in building sustainable communities. — MS
