Atilano envisions master plan for sports PDF Print E-mail

District 1 council aspirant Elbert ‘Bong’ Atilano Sr. said over the weekend, that if elected into office, coming up with a sports master development plan will be among his top priorities for Zamboanga City.
Atilano, who is considered an expert in sports development admitted, that while the city has not been remiss in its obligations of pushing sports among the youth sector, “what we have is purely sports activities that just outlive in a short period of time”.
Atilano said, what the city needs now is a long-term sports program, that can go on up to 25 years, in order to surely enhance the youngsters’ ability, not only to make them athletic in their youth, but to ensure that they will be champions in their chosen field of sports.
“Mucho sen ta pone el govierno na sports, pero hinde ta ginda na buen lugar, poreso este tiempo, ase kita el blue print, o concrete program for sports,” Atilano explained.
The sportsman-turned politician, also envisions, that once this sports master development plan is realized, it will surely capture the attention of neighboring cities and provinces, and might even be adopted and transformed into sports standard plan nationally.
“Poreso si dale comigo oportunidad el maga votante para sirvi con el ciudad, ay asegura yo que si tiene man yo algun significante ordinansa que tiene que ase na sports ay presenta, este hinde lang implementable mientras na puesto lang yo, si no hasta el tiempo que nuay mas ya yo na politica”, the former Zamcelco president assured.
Atilano is running under the ticket of Team PNoy, with 1st district congresswoman Ma Isabelle ‘Beng’ Climaco-Salazar as its standard bearer, re-electionist Vice Mayor Cesar Iturralde as her running mate, outgoing Mayor Celso Lobregat as their congressional bet, and Myra Paz Abubakar, Noning Biel III, Gerky Valesco, Charlie Mariano, Dats Sampang, Tito Espiritusanto, and Violy Alejandro, as the other council aspirants. — PA
