The Police Retirees Association, Inc.  Region 9 (PRAI-9) chapter will commemorate the first year of its existence on the 3rd May 2013 at the Crystal Ballroom of Grand Astoria Hotel with Police Chief Supt. Juanito B. Vaño Jr., Director of Police Regional Office-9 as its anniversary guest of honor and speaker.

PRAI-9 serves as the nucleus of all the local PRAI Chapters in Region 9 as well as the Basilan Provincial Chapter in the ARMM and acts as the over-all coordinator of all PRAI-related activities in close coordination with the National PRAI Chapter in Camp Crame.

Retired Police Sr. Supt. Julmunier A. Jubail, CSEE, former Deputy Regional Director of PR09 (2004-2006), Provincial Director of Lanao del Norte and City Director of Iligan City Police office, is the incumbent President/Chairman of PRA19, a SEC-registered PRAI Chapter.

The establishment of PRAI9 as well as the local chapters in the provinces and urbanized cities was propelled by the need to have strong representation by the police pensioners (i.e. retirees, survivors and transferees) anchored on the belief and commitment to our motto: In Union there is Strength. At present, PRAI National and all its regional and local chapters are working on the release of other benefits due the police pensioners including the 38 months pension adjustment differentials under the 3rd Salary Standardization Law (3SSL) amounting to at least P10 billion and possibly the balance due under the 1st SSL signed by former President Corazon C. Aquino and the 2nd SSL signed by President Fidel V Ramos. Indeed, it’s “better late than never” but to realize this goal, PRAI National headed by retired Police Director Van D. Luspo is liaisoning closely with PNP, DBM and Congress.

PRAI National office is contemplating a peaceful nationwide mass protest on May 10, 2013 for the release of all pension differentials due pursuant to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd salary differentials. PRAI 9 efforts will be closely coordinated with the Regional Office of DBM, the City Government of Zamboanga and the PNP.
