Residents of Katilingban housing project in Sinunuc came in throngs to listen to UNA District 1 congressional bet Cris “Monsi” Dela Cruz present his platforms of government during a rally last Thursday night.

At least five Katilingban residents were interviewed and said that they believe in Dela Cruz as the leader who can move the city forward if given the chance in the forthcoming May 13 election.

They said they supported Dela Cruz twice in past elections and they will continue to support him to become the next first district congress representative in Zamboanga City.

Many of the residents expressed indignation on the pestering blackouts as they blame it on the city government leadership.

“As you can see sir, (DZT reporter), we are experiencing long blackout as the rally of the UNA is ongoing,” they said.

They also agreed what Dela Cruz has said that despite the city government’s billions of pesos in the bank, Mayor Celso Lobregat  has not spent the money for the right projects that would benefit the people like employment generation and to solve the power shortage.

During the rally, Dela Cruz lambasted Lobregat saying that there are many poor people who could not afford to eat the right meal and many jobless despite the P3 billion deposited in a private bank.

“All of Monsi’s attacks on Lobregat are true, as we can see the present situation in the city. There are killings, kidnappings, blackouts, many sick poor people who could not buy medicines, while our money in the bank is growing,” a senior citizen of Katilingban said.

Dela Cruz also announced during the rally that he has donated many lots to poor people of Zamboanga City and it came from his own pocket “compared to Lobregat who could not do the same despite his nine years in office.

The servant-leader further said that he will continue his scholarship program for poor young people who want to finish their study. – Dan Toribio Jr.
