Boat skipper nabbed for M-16 possession PDF Print E-mail

A boat skipper was arrested by Coast Guard personnel for possession of a questionable M16 rifle in Baliwasan Seaside the other day.

Arrested was Gabil Ukkang y Asdang, 40, married, boat skipper of MPB Queen Shaima and a resident of Luuk Tanduh Bato, Sulu.

Coast Guard personnel confiscated from Ukkang’s possession an M16 rifle with 82 rounds of ammunition.

A police report disclosed that Coast Guard personnel led by Lt.Sg. Jomark Angue were conducting seaborne patrol onboard a vessel with the objective to negate all undocumented vessels and bancas from carrying unauthorized passengers

At the vicinity of Sta. Cruz Island,  they spotted the MPB Queen Shaima heading for Luuk, Sulu.

The PCG men called the attention of Ukkang and told him to drop anchor at PMI wharf in Baliwasan Seaside for inspection.

During inspection, PCG men found an M16 rifle at a compartment.

Ukkang was brought to the central police station while the gun and the ammunition were turned over to an  investigator for the filing of charges in court. – Dan Toribio Jr.
