“Basilan is a war zone but do your duty with respect and courtesy. Alert at all cost and be vigilant  because there are bombs, kidnappings and lawlessness.”

Thus said Isabela City Mayor Cherilyn Akbar in her welcoming statement for two companies from Regional Public Safety Battalion which came from Police Regional Office- Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao and Police Regional Office-3.

The two companies will be deployed in Isabela City and Lamitan.
Before they were deployed, they were oriented and lectured on the customs and traditions of the people in the province.

Directorate for Integrated Police Operations Western Mindanao Command Chief Director Felisicimo Khu Jr. directed the policemen to “do positive things” in  the performance of their duties as lawlessness is prevailing in Basilan like kidnapping, bombing, murders and lawless persons use police and military uniforms in their illegal activities.

Basilan Police Provincial Director Sr. Supt. Cristeto Rey Gonzalodo told the policemen that they are  “the police of the people and the country.” —  Allen Abastillas
