The Police Watch Zamboanga (PWZ) is now in the process of selecting and evaluating candidates for the 10 Most Outstanding Policemen who will be awarded on February 26.

Veteran broadcaster Arsenio “Rawhide” Nuevo, PWZ representative,  disclosed that members and officials of the group have started selecting policemen from the different stations and units from all ranks who will be awarded based on their accomplishments as law enforcers.

Nuevo said that members of the PWZ who came from all walks of life are currently monitoring the
performances of the law enforcers for them to be qualified as awardees.

He added that the 10 awardees will be those policemen with outstanding accomplishments last year.

“The PWZ people are just around the corners of Zamboanga City but nobody knows them especially the police personnel,” Nuevo said.

He said the PWZ is very strict in choosing the awardees as they are being selected not only because of popularity but fortheir performance in law enforcement.

He added that the PWZ also accepts nominations from ordinary people like tricycle and jeepney drivers, professionals and even from men in uniform.

All nominations will carefully selected by the PWZ before the awarding day.
The PWZ will accept at least 25 nominees and 10 of them will be awarded on February 26 during a simple program to be held at the Grand Astoria Hotel.

The awarding of 10 most outstanding policemen by the PWZ is now on its 6th year. It is intended  to encourage the local police to do their job well. — Dan Toribio Jr.
