The covered court of the Upper Pasonanca Elementary School joins the growing roster of infrastructure projects completed by the city government under the administration of Mayor Celso Lobregat.

Lobregat formally turned over the P1.4 million project yesterday, May 9, to the barangay of Pasonanca, duly represented by Chairman Efigenio Julian Jr., together with Pedro Melchor Natividad, Assistant Schools Division Supt. and Dr. Laarni Villanueva, San Roque Elementary School principal. Also present were Councilors Noning Biel, Myra Paz Abubakar and Gerky Valesco as well as Team PNoy council aspirants Bong Atilano andTito Espiritusanto.

Annaliza Martin, the principal of the Upper Pasonanca Elementary School, expressed her gratitude and promised to utilize the covered court for the good of her students.

According to Julian, the project is the first of three covered courts to be constructed in select schools in Pasonanca. The construction of the second covered court is currently on-going in Luyahan Elementary School, with the third one, located in the main Pasonanca Elementary School, set to begin after the elections.

The city government has implemented a total of P180 million-worth of projects in barangay Pasonanca, including the recently inaugurated El Museo de Zamboanga, and the science park and barangay health center, both of which are currently on-going.

Also present during the turnover were Jonathan Tarroza, Muruk Elementary School principal, City Engineer Luis Despalo, Upper Pasonanca teachers and students and parents. — Jasmine Mohammadsali
