Police on Thursday night recovered a .38 cal. revolver owned by a motorcycle thief who tried to steal a woman’s motorcycle along La Purisima St.

Maria Lyn Peligro y Onggon was about to board her Honda XRM motorcycle which she parked along La Purisima near Southway Star Mall around 7 p.m. when an unidentified man armed with a .38 cal.revolver appeared and pointed the gun at her.

The suspect tried to steal Peligro’s motorcycle. However she screamed for help and drew the attention of a parking aide who rushed in and figured in a scuffle with the suspect. Amid the scuffle, the suspect’s handgun fell on the pavement that prompted him to flee.

The gun was retrieved by the parking aide and turned it over to the police.
