Mayoralty aspirant Beng Climaco-Salazar expressed hopes that today’s local and national elections will be a peaceful and clean exercise, even as she called on the electorate to exercise their right of suffrage and to choose candidates wisely.

With the campaign period over and only hours away to wait for the result, Climaco-Salazar thanks everyone who worked hard and helped in the campaign.

“We hope that everyone will follow the rules set by Comelec and make this exercise to suffrage as orderly as possible”, the Climaco-Salazar urged.

The District I solon is the standard bearer of the local Team PNoy party which is also composed of re-electionist Vice Mayor Cesar Iturralde, District I congressional candidate Mayor Celso Lobregat, District II congressional bet Jomar Lobregat and council aspirants Myra Paz Abubakar, Violy Alejandro, Dats Sampang, Tito Espiritusanto, Noning Biel, Charlie Mariano, Bong Atilano and Gerky Valesco for District I and Mike Alavar, Kit Barredo, BG Guingona, VP Elago, Elong Natividad, Art Onrubia, Percival Ramos and Eddie Saavedra for District II.

Climaco-Salazar likewise expressed hopes that the overwhelming support shown by people during her party’s visit to the different barangays will be converted to votes today, as she called on barangay folks to go out and  cast their votes.

The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) in Zamboanga has declared all systems go for today’s elections. The poll body called on all sectors to cooperate and support in the effort to make the elections today an honest, orderly and peaceful exercise. This is the second election that the country is using the automated election.

Precincts will be opened from 7am until 7pm today. — MS
