Police: No untoward incidents in Zambo PDF Print E-mail

Police reported that yesterday’s election was very peaceful and orderly in Zamboanga City.

City Police Director Sr. Supt. Edwin De Ocampo who personally led his men in the field and in monitoring the situation said since the transport of the PCOs machines to the different barangays the other day up to its return to the Comelec office, everything was in place and no untoward incident happened.

De Ocampo said that during the voting process yesterday, he kept on monitoring his men detailed outside polling places as the latter were feeding him situational reports regularly.

The police official added that with the number of the police and military personnel deployed in the different schools including those in the islands, the voting exercise was very successful.

De Ocampo said that no violent incidents took place in polling places in Sacol Island as the place is very secured by police and military forces.

He said that no less than the voters have cooperated with the police and military which contributed much in the making yesterday’s election peaceful in Zamboanga City.

De Ocampo said the police and military as deputized by the Comelec strictly implemented the Omnibus Election Code. — Dan Toribio Jr.
