Mayor Celso Lobregat turned over yesterday afternoon the city government’s third installment payment of 20 percent amounting to P1.5 million to the Dugan Ecology Village Homeowners Association, Inc., a housing project for government employees in Lunzuran, this city.

The amount was in turn handed over to the landowner, Patrick and Mercedes Dugan, bringing to P4,587,300 the total amount or 60% thus far paid to the couple for their property measuring 34,355 sq. meters sold to the association for P7,645,500 with the city government as originator cum-guarantor. As of this date, the land acquisition balance is P3,058,200.00 to be paid this June 20% and the last installment of 30% in December, this year.

In turning over the amount, Lobregat reminded the homeowners association to be mindful of their obligation to pay the monthly mortgage of their lots so that the city government can extend similar assistance to other housing groups. He also thanked the Dugan couple for making the government employees’ dream to own a house and lot a reality as very reasonable terms.

The project, classified as direct negotiated purchase, is being facilitated by the Housing and Land Management Division of the City Mayor’s Office headed by Mr. Rodrigo Pagotaisidro, who is at the same time president of the Dugan Ecology Village Homeowners Association, Inc.

Pagotaisidro together with the other officers was sworn in by the mayor. They were: Lowell S. Vallecer, vice president; Rizalinda M. Sojor, secretary; Mario D. Arriola, treasurer; and Maria Rona M. Juguilon, auditor. The members of the Board are: Alvin A. Asingua, Ursula F. De Loyola, Wilbert S. Lauriaga, Romeo B. Roble Jr., Christopher A. Laque and Councilor Percival S. Ramos.

Today, the association has 108 member-beneficiaries, of whom 43 are city government employees, 35 national government employees, 20 coming from the business sector and 20 private employees. — Vic Larato
