Mayor Celso Lobregat will officially turn over a brand new city government donated “Pumper” fire truck to the Zamboanga City Fire District (ZCFD) at city hall grounds on Monday.

This was disclosed yesterday by ZCFD District Fire Marshal F/Supt. Dominador F. Zabala, Jr., who said that the “Pumper” fire truck is one of the four fire trucks the city government under the leadership of Mayor Celso Lobregat has procured and donated to the ZCFD.

He also said that the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) through the efforts of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) National Headquarters recently released an Austrian-made Rosenbauer 4,000 liters fire truck for the fire district.

Zabala added that the said new Austrian-made Rosenbauer fire truck that arrived in this city over the weekend has powerful water stream pressure that can hit with a range of about 80 feet high or equivalent to an 8-story building.

The fire truck was turned over last February yet in Manila by DILG Secretary Mar Roxas but recently arrived in this city over the weekend for proper deployment.

Zabala also said the arrival and releases of this brand new fire trucks will greatly help their fire district in containing fire incidents in this city, particularly on high-rise or large buildings.

“Our profound thanks and gratitude to the city government under the leadership of Mayor Celso Lobregat for helping us in facilitating for the release of brand new fire trucks for our fire district, which will subsequently be distributed in the different fire stations in the city’s east and west coasts,” Supt. Zabala, Jr. said.
