A 23-year-old man was hacked and wounded by his neighbor in Barangay La Paz last Wednesday night.

Police identified the victim as Jayson Andico y Bucoy, single. He sustained hack wounds in the head and shoulder.

Andico was hacked by Christopher Francisco of Palanas, Baluno, police said.

Initial investigation showed that Andico was preparing dinner inside his nipa hut when Francisco arrived around 11 p.m.

Police said that Andico offered Francisco  a cup of coffee but the latter suddenly pulled out a bolo and hacked him twice hitting in the head and right shoulder.

Although wounded, Andico managed to run away until he reached the barangay road where he was assisted by a resident identified as Noel Panoy who rushed him to the Ayala Lying-in Hospital aboard a motorcycle.

Later on, Andico was transferred to the Zamboanga City Medical Center for further treatment.

Police were still on follow-up operation for the arrest of Francisco. – Dan Toribio Jr.
