Less than 24 hours after a businessman was released in Jolo, Sulu, suspected Abu Sayyaf kidnappers struck in Basilan taking two hostages in separate abductions last Tuesday and yesterday morning.

Lucio Gonzales, a boat skipper of Albert Fishing, was seized by 15 gunmen around 8 a.m. in Lantawan. His abductors dragged him to one of two seacraft called “Jungkung” that sailed in the direction of Sulu.

It was gathered that Gonzales was at the vicinity of Matahal, Lantawan when the kidnappers arrived and dragged him to one of the two boats.

On the other hand, Jennelyn Luna Enpera, a DSWD Social Worker snatched by gunmen around 9 a.m. in Ungkaya Pukan town where she was in charge of the 4Ps or Pantawid program of the government.

Police learned that Enpera was abducted at a school in Barangay Ulitan, Ungkaya Pukan by gunmen riding on motorcycles.

Around 11 p.m. Monday, Renato Yanga, a businessman was released by his captors in Jolo and was fetched by his relatives.

Yanga was seized by gunmen at past 6 a.m. last April 20 while he was about to open his TP Spot coffee shop in Jolo.

Yanga’s release  was made secretly. He was turned over by the kidnappers directly to his relatives in an undisclosed place in Jolo.

Yanga was put under medical observation after he lost weight while in captivity.
