Firefighters of the Lanao del Norte Provincial Fire Marcial Office battled for five days a fire that hit Granex Coconut Oil Mill in  Iligan City last May 20, 2013.

The coco mill blaze was only declared “fire-ou”t last  May 25,2013  around 3:53 in the afternoon.

Iligan City Police Office acting City Police Director Sr. Supt. Cristeto Rey D. L Gonzalodo disclosed that the fire brokeout 5:50 p.m.at the coco mill that is situated along a coastal area of Iligan City.

Gonzalodo said that Lanao del Norte’s and Iligan’s firemen experienced hardship it putting out the fire because of the tons of dried cocomeat which are very flammable.

The blaze triggered heavy traffic along the highway of Iligan City, but everything was put in order by Gonzalodo’s police force.

Gonzalodo said It was very fortunate that other private properties were not damaged in the five-day fire.
