3 mining firm workers seized in Tawi-Tawi PDF Print E-mail

Three mining company workers were seized by gunmen off Languyan and Tumbagaan Island, Tawi-Tawi last Thursday.

One of the workers  was rescued by fishermen two days after.

Reports identified the three workers as Mar Hadjula, a boat operator, Marcial España, cook,  and Eddie Reubal, all workers of SR Mining Company based in Tumbagaan.

DZT gathered that the three were aboard a pumpboat that was sailing off Languyan and Tumbagaan Island when they were seized by gunmen.

On May 25, Hadjula was rescued by fishermen near Sulare Island and was taken to the Siasi Municpal Police Station for proper disposition. He was later turned over to the Languyan Police Station.

Authorities were still conducting hot pursuit operation for the rescue of España and Reubal.
