City releases first SPES batch salaries PDF Print E-mail

The City Government has released the salaries of the students hired under the first batch of the 2013 Summer Program for the Employment of Students (SPES) on Tuesday, May 28, at the City Hall Conference Room.

In the ceremonial distribution headed by Mayor Celso L. Lobregat and City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) OIC Evelyn Las Marias, students from the barangays of Quiniput, Baluno, Guiwan, Ayala, Labuan, Latuan, Lubigan, Pamucutan, Vitali, Tigbalabag and Curuan, and those deployed in the local offices of the City Auditor, City Legal and City Human Resource and Management, received Php 2,400  as part of their compensation for the 20-day SPES work period.

This amount represents the 60 percent share of the City Government in the total Php 4,000 salary of the students. The remaining Php 1,600  will come from the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) as part of their 40 percent counterpart in the program.

The salaries of the remaining students of the first batch have been processed and are scheduled to be released at the City Treasurer’s Office. Students are advised to visit the CSWDO prior to claiming their salaries.

The SPES is an annual program jointly undertaken by the City Government, through the CSWDO and the DOLE.

A total of 1,510 students were employed for the first SPES batch which was held from April 10 - May 8. Meanwhile, the second SPES batch is currently on-going.
