A suspected kidnapper who was arrested in Naga, Zamboanga Sibugay last Wednesday, was temporarily detained at the central police station pending his turnover to the court.

Felix Barrientos y Araneta alias Felix Barrientos y Alvarez was placed under police custody after his arrest. He was scheduled to be presented to the court that issued his warrant of arrest.

Barrientos was nabbed by men of the City Police Office’s Detective Management Unit led by Insp. Albert Alfaro under City Police Director Sr. Supt. Edwin De Ocampo, in Barangay La Paz, Naga, Zamboanga Sibugay on the strength of a warrant for kidnapping and serious illegal detention with Case No. 76474. The warrant was issued on March 21, Judge Gregorio Dela Peña of the Regional Trial Court Branch 12 with no bail bond recommended.

Barrientos was linked to the kidnapping of three teachers of the Tigi Elementary School in Limaong last year.

The victims were rescued immediately with the help of authorities and some residents.
