A boarding house owner was shot and seriously wounded in front of his horrified wife near the entrance gate of the Zamboanga City Airport before noon yesterday.

Abibakrin Buddin, a native of Tawi-Tawi, sustained three bullet wounds in the body and was rushed to a private hospital for treatment.

A police report disclosed that Buddin, his wife and some relatives were aboard on two tricycles that were approaching the entrance gate of the airport when two men riding on a motorcycle appeared and the backrider shot him at close range.

The gunmen hurriedly left the place while the victim was rushed to the hospital.

The shooting took place just a few meters away from the main entrance of the airport where policemen were on duty but no one was able to respond to the incident.

Police investigators recovered three spent shells of .45 caliber pistol at the crime scene.

It was learned that Buddin and his family were about to leave for Manila when the gun attack took place.

Buddin was reported to have earlier called the attention of his boarding house caretaker for letting in male boarders since it is for only for female boarders.
