City Police Director Sr. Supt. Edwin De Ocampo yesterday disclosed that the police have come up with security measures to be implemented in the different schools as classes will officially start tomorrow.

De Ocampo said he has assigned policemen in downtown schools and in the barangays to secure the students and teachers.

There will also be policemen tasked to secure island schools especially teachers and pupils there to protect them from any lawless group.

The security plan for the opening of classes was  prepared by the local police along with the city government few weeks ago.

De Ocampo said that police units will be utilized not only in the different schools but also in strategic areas and populated places.

Policemen will also be deployed in the city’s streets to check on street thieves preying on student-pedestrians..

De Ocampo disclosed that the public can approach any policeman in the street for assistance in case of emergency.

The city police director also said that all police stations remain open 24 hours a day to serve the citizenry.

He also called on all motorists to be cooperative in times of heavy traffic during rush hours which expected in some intersections in the morning and afternoon. – Dan Toribio Jr.
