Thorough investigation is underway aimed to unmask the gunmen behind the gun attack on a radio station in Zamboanga del Norte, a police official disclosed Saturday.

Attacked was DXFL-FM owned by Engr. Franklin Lim located at the corner of Rizal Ave. and Arellano St., Barangay Central, Dipolog City, the capital of Zamboanga del Norte province.

Police Regional Office-9 information officer Chief Insp. Ariel Huesca said no one was however killed or wounded since the incident took place around 2:30 a.m. Friday.

Lim told the police he “heard a burst of fire but he did not mind believing that it was only a firecracker.”

However, Lim said he was informed by the radio technician who reported for work around 6 a.m. Friday that the clear glass window of the announcer’s booth was shattered.

Responding policemen have recovered from the crime scene four empty shells and eight deformed slugs of caliber .45 Pistol, Huesca said.

All possible motives are being look into aimed to unmask the culprits, Huesca said.

The radio station’s programs are also being reviewed to determine whether the announcers, to include block timers, have offended any individual, Huesca said.

It has been observed that radio stations in the provinces, although licensed as FM which normally runs musical programs, maintains public affairs and commentary programs. HBC/TEOFILO P. GARCIA, JR./JSD
