On Friday, June 7, 2013, Zamboanga City Water District will decommission the 400mmØ CI pipeline along Pasonanca-Sta. Maria Road following the completion of the replacement of transmission line and transfer of existing service lines by NLV Construction.

At least 13 service areas will experience water interruption once decommissioning of the old pipeline will start at 8:00PM on Friday. Work is expected to be completed by 8:00AM of the following day. ZCWD is advising all affected service areas, starting from Barangay Pasonanca up to city proper to store water for the duration of the interruption.

For queries on the areas stated in the water interruption notice, customers may call the ZCWD’s Hotline Nos. 955-1004 to 1009.

The pipeline replacement project in Pasonanca being undertaken by NLV Construction & Development Corporation will be turned over to ZCWD by the middle of this month once restoration of the concrete pavement and road is completed.

The Php20.1M project which commenced last September 21, 2011 involved the laying of 1,662 linear meters of 350mmØ PVC pipes starting from the junction of Motorpool- Scout Limbaga Road up to the Pasonanca-Sta.Maria boundary. It also included the clustering of 100 service connections and the relocation of 60 individual connections, as well as, the installation of (1) unit 100mmØ fire hydrant and the replacement of other appurtenances.

Like all other pipeline replacement projects of ZCWD, problems on non-revenue water will be addressed, water losses due to illegal connections will be reduced and water pressure in the area will improve.
