The Zamboanga City Water District (ZCWD) is currently contracting the services of Teddie Construction in the ongoing  asphalt restoration of the concrete road on the city’s main thoroughfare of  Mayor Cesar C. Climaco Avenue and Mayor Jaldon Street.

The road restoration is part of the replacement/rehabilitation pipeline project that started on October 18, 2011 and was carried out by administration with a total cost of Php4.8M. However, the asphalt restoration work on the road was bid out to interested contractors as the water district does not have the capacity and equipment to undertake said restoration  project. It was only after two (2) failed biddings did the water district finally get to award the contract to Teddie Construction, being the bidder with the lowest calculated and responsive bid.

During the course of the bidding process, lean concrete was temporarily placed by ZCWD, in lieu of asphalt, in order to forestall road accidents in the area and to minimize pollution caused by the piled up soil due to the unrestored portion of the road.

The Asphalt Restoration work has a project cost of Php1.3M for MCC Climaco Avenue and Php2M for Mayor Jaldon Street that started on May 30, 2013 and is expected to be completed by June 13, 2013.
