A pedicab driver landed in the hospital in critical condition after he was stabbed by his live-in partner in Sitio Pantano, San Roque last Thursday night.

The victim, Louie Delos Santos, sustained a stab wound in the lower part of the breast. He was taken to the Zamboanga City Medical Center where he was declared in serious condition.
Delos Santos was stabbed by Sheryl Malicay. She surrendered to the police after the incident and was detained at the Pasonanca Police Action Center.

A police report said the stabbing took place amid a domestic quarrel.
Malicay told the police that Delos Santos has asked her P200 which he gambled in toss coins game called “hantak”.

Around 6 p.m. Delos Santos went home and heavily drunk. He asked again for money from Malicay to continue playing toss coins but she refused to give.
At this point, Delos Santos got mad and started punching Malicay.
To defend herself, Malicay grabbed a knife in the kitchen and stabbed Delos Santos in the chest.
