Kidnappers linked to the Abu Sayyaf Group released another kidnap victim in Jolo, Sulu early yesterday morning.

Freed was Carlos Tee Tiam. He arrived at their house around 3 a.m. in Jolo town.

Report disclosed that Tiam’s captors were forced to release him because they were pressured amid the continuous military operations against all kinds of lawless groups in Jolo.

It was learned that Tiam’s wife was puzzled when she heard someone knocking at their door. When she opened it,  she was surprised to see her husband standing.

The report added that Tiam was freed right in Jolo town proper. He just walked towards their house.

Tiam’s wife said she has no idea on the release of her husband. She said she never negotiated with the kidnappers.

Tiam was brought to the hospital for medical check-up as a standard operating procedure on all freed  kidnap victims.

Tiam was seized by gunmen in Jolo last April 7, 2012. He was brought to an undisclosed place where he was kept for more than a year. – Dan Toribio Jr.
