Multi Sectoral Group for Better Zamcelco (MGBZ) has urged all Zamcelco member-consumers to attend and pro actively participate in the Zamcelco Annual General Assembly to be held tomorrow, June 16  from 8 a.m.to 5 p.m. at Zamcelco Multi Purpose Gym in Putik, this city.

MGBZ said in a press statement that the assembly will be a crucial one for the future of Zamcelco and its members.

“Do we want a repeat of the 8-9 hours brownout? What about the power rates we are paying? Is this the real cost we consumers are supposed to pay?  What about the management of your electric cooperative, are you satisfied? Do you have questions about your power bills?”  MGBZ said the assembly is the proper forum to bring up these questions.

In addition to the routine items in the agenda,  it is expected that the general assembly will be asked to approve  a management enhancement program  proposed by San Ramon Power Inc.  as part of its Power Sales Agreement (PSA)  with Zamcelco.

“No one has seen the details of this program. Are the member consumers aware on the terms of this program?” asked MGBZ

Zamcelco is a coop and its  ’owners’ are the member-consumers. Add your voice to the public discourse on the management of the coop. Make known your stand. Be there   or we all lose by default,” stressed MGBZ. — MGBZ Media Bureau
