Lawmen confiscated big quantity of shabu and firearms during a raid at a house in Natividad St., Tetuan yesterday afternoon.

Seized were six big plastic sachets of shabu, an M4 carbine rifle, two M4 butts, a .380 pistol and several rounds of ammunition.

The raid was carried out around 3 p.m.at the house owned by Marimar Ajurani, wife of Sheralyn Ajurani, on the strength of a search warrant issued by the Regional Trial Court.

During the raid, the couple owner of the house was not around.

Police said the owner of the M4 rifle is Kitzar Arib, a policeman of the Police Regional Office-9.

The raiders were members of the various police units, including the PAOCC-PCTC, RIU, Special Action Force, city police office, Zamboanga City Public Safety, R-2.

No other details available as of press time.

Similar raid was carried ut by lawmen at a residence in Kalasahan Village, Upper Calarian on June 1 wherein an M4 rifle was recovered.

The raid in Upper Calarian were carried out by operatives of the Tetuan Police Station, Sinunuc Police Station, Intelligence Section and Anti-Carnapping Unit at the house of Gracelyn Saji, wife of the late Zaldy Saji, a former policeman. Aside from the M4 rifle, eight long magazines loaded with ammunition were seized.

Gracelyn denied ownership of the gun, claiming that a certain Nixon Indanan, allegedly a policeman, was its owner.

They said that Indanan left the gun in their possession and went to report for duty.

Aside from the gun and bullets, policemen also recovered a black bandolier where the magazines were stuffed.

The mother and son were placed under investigation while the seized gun and ammunition were turned over to the investigators for the filing of charges against them in court. — Dan Toribio Jr.
