PNP’s Maritime-9 recruits men for special boat unit PDF Print E-mail

Good news to young people who want to join the Regional  Maritime Unit 9 Special Boat Unit. It is now accepting  25 male applicants qualified to become members of the Philippine National Police Maritime Group.

Supt. Rollen Ariño,  PNP Maritime Unit 9 chief, disclosed that applicants must have the skill to swim in deep water; they must be 21 to 30 years old before the oath taking,  A natural born Filipino and single;college graduate with eligibility from the Civil Service Commission or National Police Commission or board passer of any Professional Regulation Commission course.

Ariño said the recruitment is a regular quota of 25 of the command. Applicants must not only know how to swim, but  also expert in deep water and sea operations. Every applicant must know how to save his comrade in case he is wounded  while in operation at sea and also knows the roughness of the sea water.

The Special Boat Unit  of the PNP Maritime-9 is a unit where all troopers are willing to be assigned anywhere to combat lawlessness or smuggling at sea.

The recruits will undergo a six-month basic police training  after which they will undergo another 45-day Special Counter Insurgengy Unit Training (SCOUT). — Allen Abastillas
