A suspected stolen Honda XRM motorcycle was seized by men of the Highway Patrol Group-9 led by Insp. Mervin Claret and SPO1 Wilfredo P. Ator at the Zamboanga City wharf last Saturday

Claret disclosed that while they were conducting a routinary inspection  at the local wharf, they spotted a Honda XRM motorcycle which looked like it was abandoned. He and Ator asked an official of the Philippine Ports Authority regarding the status of the motorcycle and its real  owner, but the latter can not identify the owner because no one has claimed the dusty motorcycle.

Claret’s team decided to bring the motorcycle to Camp Batalla to check on its records with the Motorvehicle Information Management System (MVIM).

Claret described the motorcycle as follows: Silver black with no plate number,  Engine number is XRM 17E011913 and chassis number is XRM 17011908. It is Honda 125 cc , 2010 model.

Supt. Severino B. Agustin, HPG 9 chief, commended Claret for the recovery of the motorcycle. He directed Claret to coordinate with the Land Transportation Office-9 and ask information on the status of the motorcycle as well as to determine who its real owner. He also instructed  Claret to coordinate with the Police Regional Office 9 Crime Laboratory for the conduct of macro- etching examination on the said motorcycle. — Allen Abastillas
