A marine product buying station lost P14,000 to five holduppers in Sta. Catalina last Friday afternoon.

Police said the holdup took place at the Obico Marine Product buying station yesterday afternoon.

Initial investigation disclosed that five men arrived at the station around 1:30 p.m. and one of them was carrying sea cucumber (balat) which he pretended to sell to the station. Three of them went to the office of the secretary and also pretended tp transact business. The two others approached the security guard and suddenly pointed handguns at him.

Simultaneously the three men at the secretary’s office also drew their handguns and announced at heist,  then grabbed P14,000 in cash, cell phones and two wristwatches from the employees.

The office staff told the police that the holduppers left the place aboard two motorcycles that sped right away after the holdup.
