Another landmark City Government building constructed in Villalobos Street has been inaugurated and opened to the public Sunday afternoon.

Mayor Celso Lobregat together with Councilor-elect Roel Natividad and City Department heads spearheaded the unveiling of the P21.8 million building which houses the City Human Resource Management Office (CHRMO), the Gender and Development (GAD) and the Procurement and Awards Division (PAAD) under the Office of the City Mayor.

Several other government offices will be transferred to the building.

The 2-storey imposing building has an area of 1,452 square meters. It’s unique design makes it one of the landmark edifices in the area where a privately-owned school and other beautifully designed buildings are also located.

Villalobos Street is adjacent to Pettit Barracks where other City Government buildings—mostly uniquely designed—are located.

Sound fiscal management has enabled the City Government under the Lobregat administration to undertake a massive infrastructure program covering all aspects.

Lobregat said infrastructure development is intended to improve and accelerate delivery of service to the people.

Also assisting the mayor during the inauguration were City Administrator Antonio Orendain Jr., the different department heads and guests Raul Regondola of the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO), WMSU Vice President for Research Dr. Bert Torres, Chief Executive Assistant Mario Roca and numerous others. — Sheila Covarrubias
