A young executive associate of XTRM 1-11, dealer of Usana food supplements, was fatally shot along Veterans Avenue Extension in Tumaga last Saturday afternoon.

Killed was Justine Raphael “Jad” Wee y Fernandez, 22, a graduate student of Ateneo de Zamboanga University (ADZU) and son of a local businesswoman. He sustained a bullet wound in the left cheek and was rushed to the hospital where he expired yesterday morning.

Initial investigation disclosed that Wee was inside RJ Refreshment having snacks when a gunman wearing a full face helmet entered and shot him once at close range.

The gunman then left the place aboard a motorcycle.

Witnesses told the police that the killer sped towards Sta. Cruz area.

Police recovered an empty shell of .45 caliber pistol at the crime scene.

Wee expired at the hospital yesterday morning due to a fatal wound, police said yesterday.

Investigators of the Sta. Maria police station were still working on the case and trying unmask the killer.

ADZU, through the social network facebook mourns and sent condolences to the family of Justine, describing him as “one of our very promising graduate students.”

“We also pray and beg the authorities for the immediate solution to this senseless killing and justice for Justine,” said the school.

An inter-faith prayer rally and candlelight ceremony will be held today Monday, June 24, 2013, for Justine Raphael Wee in front of Fr.Eusebio Salvador Campus, La Purisima St. at 3 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. — Dan Toribio Jr.
