BFAR celebrates 47th Fish Conservation Week PDF Print E-mail

The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) has lined up several activities in the entire region in consonance with the 47th Fish Conservation Week celebration.

This year’s celebration is anchored on the theme:  “Asenso sa Pangisdaan Makakamit sa Tamang-tamang Pagtulungan”, said Abdul Gadil T. Malick, Administrative Officer -BFAR.

Malick said BFAR offices in Zamboanga Sibugay, Dipolog City, Pagadian City and Isabela City have initiated the conduct of activities inline with the celebration.

In Zamboanga City, one of the activities is a two-day training on Oct. 23-24 for fish inspectors of the Mega Fishing Corporation. A press conference on the said training is set on Oct. 23

The training will focus on proper code hygiene, sanitation and procedures on fish production.

Other activities include dispersal of seaweeds seedling, dispersal of tilapia fry and mangrove plantation in coastal areas in different places in the region.
