A year after the launching of its Customer Service Hotlines, the Zamboanga City Water District will soon be utilizing the Short Message Service (SMS) or text messages, thru its Official Cellular Phone No. 0917-7050440, to remind/inform customers of their due dates and or overdue accounts.

The use of the SMS on a test mode is essential to determine whether registered contact numbers are accurate and updated in order to eliminate erroneous sending of message/s to customers.

Messages will be sent to customers informing them of the following: 1) details of their bill- account name and number; 2) due date of the bill; and 3) when bill is overdue.

It is the plan of ZCWD that once the effectiveness and convenience of the SMS program have been established, the office will also start sending SMS notices/announcements on water advisories that affect public service.

Customers who have not registered or updated their contact numbers and would like to receive such messages from ZCWD are advised to visit the Public Assistance Desk or the Customer Service Division at the ZCWD Main Office Building at Pilar Street, this city.

With the large and still growing number of cell phone users nowadays, ZCWD deems it effective and convenient to utilize modern technology in communicating with customers whenever and wherever they may be. This program is also in line with the vision of the water district in providing better service to its customers.
