A man engaged in the selling of used clothing (ukay ukay) was shot dead by a gunman in Barangay Arena Blanco last Wednesday night.

The fatality was identified as Wahid Tamsilani y Bagang, 56, married, of Landang Gua, Sacol Island. He sustained a bullet wound in the left lower armpit and died on the spot.

Recovered from the crime scene was a spent shell of .45 caliber pistol.

Initial investigation conducted by men of the Tetuan police station led by Chief Insp. Elmer Acuña disclosed that Tamsilani was standing near the Arena Blanco barangay hall when a gunman appeared and shot him around 7:30 p.m.

Witnesses told the police that the gunman fled and disappeared amid the crowd.

The body was claimed by the victim’s relatives after a post mortem examination.

Acuña and his men were still working on the case.

In Lamitan City, the head of a family was shot dead at Sitio Lagasan, Barangay Kulay Bato yesterday morning.

Police identified the fatality as Henry Villamor. He sustained multiple gunshot wounds in the body and died on the spot.

Investigators recovered several empty shells of 45 caliber pistol at the crime scene.

The shooting took place as Lamitan is celebrating Lami-Lamitan Festival.
