This one’s for Ripley’s believe it or not.

A man broke into a residence at San Jose Claret at broad daylight, hogtied the housewife and her helper, cooked food and ate his lunch there yesterday.

The intruder entered the Regalado residence around 10:30 a.m. and stayed there for two hours during which he hogtied Juanita Regalado and Sarah Capanul, locked them inside a bedroom, cooked some food and ate lunch while searching for valuables to rob.

When Cherrilyn Napii, Juanita’s daughter, arrived, the intruder poked a gun at her. She panicked, screamed and ran outside. Neighbors and barangay officials were drawn to the area and the San Jose Barangay Chairman fired a warning shot, forcing the intruder to flee and escape.

Police said the robber ran away with P4,000 in cash and some valuables. — Dan Toribio Jr.
