With only three days left before the turnover of leadership in the City Government, House Deputy Speaker and Mayor-elect Beng Climaco preps up for her big role in City Hall.

After a series of meetings with the transition team led by outgoing Mayor Celso Lobregat a week ago, Cong. Climaco on Thursday completed a double badge course on local governance and development that will amply prepare her for the tremendous responsibilities ahead.

The training was part of the executive-legislative coaching program held under the auspices of the Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP) and Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU) in Manila from June 24-26.

The incoming mayor finished the course together with her core team to equip everyone in serving the people starting noon of June 30.

Speakers during the training included Mayor Mon Ilagan of Cainta, Rizal and Aldrin Cuna, chief of Staff of Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista.

“Our people deserve the best service so we owe them that we get into our role with the necessary know-how,” Climaco has emphasized.

Earlier this month, the mayor-elect served as course speaker for a legislator course designed by the Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP) for Congresswoman-elect Leni Robredo of Camarines Sur.

Cong. Climaco was selected by the DAP to share her experiences as a legislator given her track record starting from an elected councilor to vice mayor and later representative of the City’s First District in the House of Representatives where she was designated House Deputy Speaker for Mindanao.
