Another policeman was shot dead yesterday, the third law enforcer to be killed in a period of four days in Zamboanga City.

PO3 Hussin Musin of the Sacol Police Station and a resident of Campo Islam, was gunned down by two motorcycle riding gunmen in Campo Islam before noon yesterday.

Musin sustained multiple bullet wounds in the body and was rushed to a private hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.

Musin was on his way home aboard a motorcycle passing Raja Muda Mandi St. in Campo Islam when two men riding tandem on another motorcycle opened fire on him at past 11 a.m.

Witnesses said that when Musin fell on the ground, the gunmen stopped and continued shooting him several times.

The killers disappeared, while the victim was rushed to the hospital.

Rrecovered at the crime scene were several spent shells of .45 caliber pistol

Musin is the third policeman killed since Sunday.

PO1 Judan Insang of the Isabela City Police Station was shot dead by two motorcycle riding gunmen along Nuñez Street at noon Sunday.

Eight hours later, PO2 Jaafar Jambiran of theSinunuc Police Station was shot and killed by two men near his residence in Campo Islam. The killers took his M4 rifle and used it to finish him before they left the place.

City Police Director Sr. Supt. Edwin Edwin De Ocampo disclosed all-out investigations are ongoing  to solve all the killings in the city.

Alarmed and indignant residents are calling on authorities to stop the killings and shootings which are giving Zamboanga City a bad image.

A group called Zamboanga Against Violence (ZAV) was recently formed to seek justice for victims of fatal shootings and to pressure authorities to arrest the killers. — Dan Toribio Jr.
